Our goal is to inspire, motivate and unite our students and the community around the importance of education — and to showcase the quality of education that is available in Auburn public schools. Each academic year we will host two or more events featuring distinguished Auburn graduates and individuals of national distinction for both our student and the community benefit.

An Auburn Education Can Take You Anywhere
Mr. Foresman will speak about how his education in Auburn public schools influenced his personal and career choices.

Bob Foresman is the CEO of Barclays Capital Russia. He also serves as the Chief Country Officer for Russian Markets for Barclay Capitol Group. He is the former Deputy Chairman of Renaissance Capital, one of the world’s leading emerging markets investment banks with a focus on Russia/CIS and Sub-Saharan Africa.  Bob joined Renaissance in 2006 from Dresdner Kleinwort Wasserstein, where he was chairman of the management committee for Russia and CIS. Prior to joining Dresdner in 2001, he was head of investment banking for Russia and Ukraine at ING Barings. Bob ran the Ukrainian Privatization Advisory team of the International Finance Corporation (IFC) from 1993-1995, and was an investment officer with IFC in Washington, DC, from 1995-1997.

Bob is one of the most seasoned investment bankers in Russia/CIS, having worked and lived in the region for almost 20 years. He has played a key role in Russia’s largest energy sector transactions in recent years.

He is a graduate of the Harvard University Graduate School of Arts & Sciences (1993), where his thesis was on “The Politics of Voucher Privatization in Russia,” as well as Bucknell University (Lewisburg, Pennsylvania, 1990, dual majors in International Relations and Russian Studies) and holds a certificate from the Moscow Energy Institute (1989). 

Bob's professional experiences have allowed him to pursue his personal passion for fostering positive US-Russian Relations. He is fluent in Russian and proficient in Ukrainian. He and his wife, Ludmila, are proud parents of five children.
