Inspiring Speaker Series

Our goal is to inspire, motivate and unite our students and the community around the importance of education — and to showcase the quality of education that is available in Auburn public schools. Each academic year we will host two or more events featuring distinguished Auburn graduates and individuals of national distinction for both our student and the community benefit.

Click to enlargeNobel Peace Prize Nominee Greg Mortenson is a humanitarian, international peacemaker, former mountaineer, co-founder of the non-profit Central Asia Institute and founder of the non-profit Pennies for Peace. Everywhere he goes, people line up to listen to his simple message about how to change the world. Standing room-only crowds have become a trend since the publication of Three Cups of Tea, which has graced The New York Times paperback nonfiction bestseller list for more than two years, half of that at #1. This phenomenal success led it to be adapted into a young readers version (Puffin 2009) and a children’s picture book, Listen to the Wind (Dial 2009), both of which were instant New York Times #1 bestsellers.

Student Dinner, Auburn High School Cafeteria
Greg Mortenson will meet with students. A showcase of student art, poetry and essays will be displayed. Private event for students, no public tickets available.
